Miso Soup Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of miso paste (you can use white or red miso, according to your preference)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 cup of tofu, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of nori seaweed, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a deep pot.
  2. Sauté the finely chopped fresh ginger and crushed garlic in the oil until fragrant, which should take about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the cups of water to the pot and bring it to a boil.
  4. Once the water is boiling, add the diced tofu and chopped nori seaweed. Cook for approximately 5 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, place the miso paste and add a bit of water to it, creating a smooth paste.
  6. Add the smooth miso paste to the pot and dissolve it in the soup. Stir well.
  7. If desired, add soy sauce and mix it in.
  8. Remove the soup from the heat and add the chopped green onions.
  9. You can optionally drizzle sesame oil on top before serving.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious miso soup!
